JOB DESCRIPTION About the Team
We are seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the Taxonomy & Catalog product squads within the Inventory group. This role is responsible for defining the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for how the marketplace structures, enriches, and governs its listing catalog—ensuring buyers can easily discover relevant items and sellers can accurately represent their products.

About the Role
In this position, you will drive product strategy and execution for the Taxonomy & Catalog domain. You’ll set direction, align cross-functional partners, and deliver scalable, high-quality systems that power search, recommendations, advertising, navigation, and seller-facing tools.

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, and other product teams to ensure taxonomy and catalog systems evolve alongside marketplace growth and support long-term strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
  • Owning the global taxonomy that organizes the marketplace, including categories, attributes, and item types
  • Defining and evolving catalog models and data structures that store and surface listing and inventory data
  • Building and improving systems and tools for listing creation, enrichment, and evaluation (for both sellers and internal stakeholders)
  • Developing platform capabilities that enable downstream teams—such as Search, Ads, Recommendations, Buyer Experience, Trust & Safety, and Analytics—to effectively interpret and rank inventory
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, including experience operating at a Staff or Principal level (or equivalent scope) across multiple teams or a broad platform domain
  • Strong background in structured data, taxonomy, information architecture, catalog systems, or search/marketplace platforms
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple teams and systems, ideally in high-scale consumer or marketplace environments
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering foundational platform changes (e.g., schema redesigns, large-scale migrations, cross-surface initiatives) with effective risk management and stakeholder communication
